Samuel H. Kim

Founder and President

Samuel is a graduate of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. He is the founder and President of the Center for Asia Leadership Initiatives. An accomplished entrepreneur, he has founded and managed three companies, SBT HQ, Inc. EDiS, Co., and SBM, Co. in the realm of investment consulting, distribution, and manufacturing, respectively. He has also co-founded an education non-profit, Impact Korea, that provides leadership training to South Korean youth. He served as an aide in the UN Security Council in New York and as a project analyst at UNESCO in Paris. He is in the process of writing three books focused on Asian education, public leadership and ethics, and a textbook on case teaching.

John Lim

Co-Founder and Chief Program Director

john lim

John is the other co-founder and Chief Program Director of the Center for Asia Leadership. His work engages him in developing and organizing conferences and experiential learning programs in collaboration with companies, academic institutions, and student groups in Asia. A former English teacher, he has extensive experience with education projects for international students. Previous to teaching, he was a researcher and analyst at the International Crisis Group and worked with the Embassy of Canada in Korea.  He currently conducts research on leadership, education, and entrepreneurial models in the Asian context. He is in the process of writing a book on the need for renewed public leadership in Asia.
